Luke Combs is already making plans for 2024. The country star has just announced a tour which will visit 13 cities in the new year.

“We got an opportunity to do two shows in some U.S. markets on the World Tour, but when I found out we were going to be able to do two shows for most all of the cities on the 2024 tour, I decided I wanted each show to have their own unique set up of openers, as well as my own unique setlist,” Combs shares in a statement. “I thought this would give people an opportunity to come to both nights if they want, but see two completely different shows.”

“With country music being such a wide genre and being a huge fan of it all myself, I wanted to open up my stage to acts that lean into Outlaw, Americana and Red Dirt on Friday nights, as well as having a night with people I have toured with in the past, who are more contemporary country,” he adds.

“I’m super excited to have both groups be out on the road with me for the Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour!”

Special guests for Combs’ Friday night shows include Cody Jinks, the Avett Brothers, Charles Wesley Godwin, Hailey Whitters and the Wilder Blue.

For Saturday’s shows, he’s scheduled Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, Drew Parker and Colby Acuff.

The Growing Up and Gettin’ Old Tour will launch April 12-13 in Milwaukee, Wisc., at American Family Field. Combs will work his way around the country with several stadium shows, before wrapping things up Aug. 9-10 at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Top 20 Luke Combs Songs That Prove ‘Em All Wrong

Check out Luke Combs’ best songs, and the songs that changed his life when so many thought he wasn’t good enough to be a country star.

No. 20:
No. 20: “Joe”

YouTube

No. 20: “Joe”

Several of Combs’ hits have included references to drinking, such as “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” “Cold as You” and “Cold Beer Calling My Name.” Even “Doin’ This” has a nod to whiskey in it. “Joe” — released ahead of his 2023 Gettin’ Old album — is a stark contrast from Combs’ typical drinking songs. The track is an anthem to those who embrace sobriety. Inspired by family members, “Joe” follows the redemptive story of a character named Joe who is feeling good after overcoming a battle with alcoholism.

No. 19:
No. 19: “Love You Anyway”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 19: “Love You Anyway”

“Love You Anyway” is a dichotomy of love and heartbreak. Inspired by his wife, Nicole, Combs explores his deepest feelings for the love of his life. He draws the conclusion that even if he knew things would end in the longrun, he would still love her and dive head first into their romance. It’s right in line with Alfred Lord Tennyson’s quote, “‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”

No. 18:
No. 18: “Six Feet Apart”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 18: “Six Feet Apart”

“Six Feet Apart” was never an official radio single, but it still climbed inside the Top 40 on unsolicited airplay in 2020. This acoustic-led lyric turned all our fears and hurt from the coronavirus pandemic into something thoughtful and generous. Luke Combs healed with this song.

No. 17:
No. 17: “1, 2 Many”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 17: “1, 2 Many”

While just an album cut, “1, 2 Many” has been a song of choice for Combs on television. Brooks & Dunn have frequently joined him to perform it, too, and few things validate hard work like two Country Music Hall of Famers going out of their way to take the stage with you.

No. 16:
No. 16: “Cold Beer Calling My Name”

YouTube

No. 16: “Cold Beer Calling My Name”

Combs and Jameson Rodgers snagged a No. 1 hit after teaming up for this ode to blue collar workers. Hard work and long days don’t seem so bad when you know there’s a cold one waiting on you after quitting time, right? “Cold Beer Calling My Name” is technically Rodgers’ song, but we included it because Combs was the perfect addition to take it to the next level.

No. 15:
No. 15: “The Kind of Love We Make”

YouTube

No. 15: “The Kind of Love We Make”

Combs takes a wildly romantic turn with “The Kind of Love We Make.” This downright sexy track finds two lovers canceling all of their plans to stay in and focus on one another. He sets the stage for a sultry night with candles, red wine and the lights turned down low. Who wouldn’t swoon at that setting? The song is Combs’ first dive into bedroom territory, and it found its way to the No. 1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart.

No. 14:
No. 14: “Going, Going, Gone”

YouTube

No. 14: “Going, Going, Gone”

The inspiration behind “Going, Going, Gone” was Tracy Chapman’s song “Fast Car.” Combs was drawn to the idea of a memorable riff in one of his tracks similar to what he heard in Chapman’s hit. He even played his own guitar in the recording session to get it just right. The song is the third single off his 2022 Growin’ Up album and — keeping with that theme — deals with heartbreak in a more mature way. Rather than drinking your sorrows away or telling them off, you accept it and move on.

No. 13:
No. 13: “Doin’ This”

YouTube

No. 13: “Doin’ This”

If you know Luke Combs, you know how humble he is. Despite his success, he is the same guy he was years ago when he was just trying to make it. “Doin’ This” — a Country Airplay No. 1 — is an ode to his love of music and those who were there in the beginning, like Adam Church, an artist and old college buddy of Combs’. The music video for “Doin’ This” tells the superstar’s origin story, but through the lens of Church. While their stories are similar, the outcomes are different.

No. 12:
No. 12: “Cold as You”

YouTube

No. 12: “Cold as You”

Anthemic, stick-it-to-your-ex drinking songs seem to be Combs’ forte, so it’s no surprise “Cold as You” topped the Country Airplay chart. Although the main character runs to his favorite drinking spot to drown the memories of his old flame, he consoles himself by saying he’s better off without her. “Cold as You” has stadiums rocking every time Combs plays it live. Fans sing along at the top of their lungs as if the louder they sing, the less their hearts will ache.

No. 11:
No. 11: “One Number Away”

YouTube

No. 11: “One Number Away”

“One Number Away” was Combs’ third consecutive No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart. It follows suit with his first two detailing heartbreak: If “Hurricane” is anger and “When It Rains It Pours” is denial, then “One Number Away” has to be acceptance when grieving a breakup. The main character is hurting and doing his best not to call his ex. He hopes she knows that he’s still there. Boy, who hasn’t had that feeling after a relationship ended?

No. 4:
No. 4: “Does to Me”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 10: “Does to Me”

Luke Combs took a shot in asking Eric Church to join him on “Does to Me,” and the fellow North Carolinian obliged him with a memorable third verse and chorus. The song adds grit to Combs’ dynamic catalog. It’s one of our absolute favorites.

No. 6:
No. 6: “When It Rains It Pours”

YouTube

No. 9: “When It Rains It Pours”

This triple-Platinum follow-up to Combs’ debut single “Hurricane” flips the bird to buzzkills and was impossible to get away from in the summer of 2017. We weren’t mad about it. Among the many heart-hurt songs on this list, “When It Rains It Pours” is the stylistic exception. It also introduces the chip on his shoulder and an Everyman approach to songwriting that is forever universal. It’s among Luke Combs’ best songs, and certainly a song he should feel proud he fought for.

No. 8:
No. 8: “Beer Never Broke My Heart”

Sony Music Nashville/River House

No. 8: “Beer Never Broke My Heart”

In November 2018, Combs hinted that he planned to finally release “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” a song that had been a highlight of his live show for months by that point. Find one of the many performance videos on YouTube and enjoy. If you’re not singing the chorus with him by the end, we owe you a beer. This should be the song Combs uses to close his concerts, because there can be little better than hearing a sold out arena shouting back the anthemic lyrics.

No. 9:
No. 9: “Hurricane”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 7: “Hurricane”

“Hurricane” started it all for Luke Combs. He took a chance and cut the demo on his own dime, and that was good enough to get him a record deal, which led to so much more. Melodically, this may be his best effort, and it’s hard to argue with the digital success of the powerful ballad. We’re talking hundreds of millions of streams and counting! There was no looking back after this song hit No. 1.

No. 11:
No. 11: “She Got the Best of Me”

YouTube

No. 6: “She Got the Best of Me”

“She Got the Best of Me” is the first of four Luke Combs songs from the deluxe version of his debut album, two of which hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart while going Platinum. Parsing the commercial success of his hits is monotonous, as they all did some degree of amazing in the marketplace. By comparison, however, streaming numbers for this ballad were down slightly. It was one of the songs he played a publisher during that fateful meeting.

No. 7:
No. 7: “Lovin’ On You”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 5: “Lovin’ on You”

While not Luke Combs’ most elaborate lyric, the honky-tonkin’ “Lovin’ on You” showcases his big country voice over a melody that’s just too fun to turn away from. When it reached No. 1 on radio airplay charts in 2020, it became his ninth of nine singles to do so. Don’t you wonder where that publisher who once told Combs he wasn’t good enough is today?

No. 3:
No. 3: “Better Together”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 4: “Better Together”

“Better Together” stands out between two of the more bombastic songs from Luke Combs’ catalog. This is another love song to wife Nicole and his most vulnerable vocal performance to date. In 2019, when she clapped back at trolls who questioned her motives in the relationship, she stood up for her future husband’s right to open his heart to her without judgement. Songs like “Better Together” prove their love runs deep.

No. 1:
No. 1: “Even Though I’m Leaving”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 3: “Even Though I’m Leaving”

The No. 1 Luke Combs’ song is subjective, but this early 2020 circle-of-life ballad showcases him as a strong storyteller in a way fans had not yet seen. It’s a flat-out tear jerker that even the songwriters say had them reaching for tissues. Combs performs the song as if he’d lost his own father recently, or as if he had kids. Neither were true when he cut it: He’s just gifted.

No. 2:
No. 2: “Forever After All”

YouTube

No. 2: “Forever After All”

It’s hard not to write a beautiful love song when your own wife is your muse. Combs’ No. 1 hit “Forever After All” is an ode to that forever feeling. While material things may fade, their love will last an eternity. Combs used footage from his own wedding to Nicole Hocking for the music video. The song is one of a few he has dedicated to the love of his life following “Beautiful Crazy” and “Better Together.”

No. 5:
No. 5: “Beautiful Crazy”

Sony Music Nashville

No. 1: “Beautiful Crazy”

In early 2019, “Beautiful Crazy” spent most of a season at No. 1 on the country airplay chart, but commercial success is not the only metric for determining the top Luke Combs songs. We grouped this as one of several songs that proved body shamers wrong. The undeniable love song was written before he even started dating Nicole Hocking, who he’d go on to marry. It’s his best song to date, and many fans would agree.
